Kandy
Sri Dalada Maligawa / Temple of the Tooth Relic is one of the most sacred places of devotion in the Buddhist world, where the tooth of Lord Buddha is housed in a well-preserved golden casket. UNESCO designated Temple of the Tooth Relic as a world historic site in 1988. The Tooth Festival, also known as Esala Perahara (Sri Dalada Perahara) is a spectacular tourist attraction held every year in July and August in Kandy, Sri Lanka.
